    Buddhism Celebration Coin Ring

    CEYLON 5 RUPEE COIN RING

    HISTORY

In 1957 the Ceylon (modern day Sri Lanka) government issued a 5 Rupee silver coin to commemorate 2500 years of Buddhism. Unfortunately, the government recalled most of the coins to be melted down for their silver, and only a small portion survived. Most that remain reside in private collections.

This incredible .925 sterling silver coin ring retains the details of a ring of elephants, cows, tigers, and horses below a ring of ducks holding lotus flowers in their mouths. Many believe this represents the endless circle of life, or more likely, the idea that we must learn our lessons or be doomed to repeat them.

You can choose between our two classic finishes. (Learn more about differences.)
