1956 Two Shilling Cut Coin Custom Jewelry

One-of-One, Don't Let It Slip Away

This two shilling coin, also known as the Florin, was issued by the British Crown from 1879 to 1970 and is an example of how beautiful coins can be. The center depicts a Tudor Rose surrounded by thistles, shamrocks, and leeks, along with the words FID DEF - Latin for Defender of the Faith.

As a cut coin, the imagery is transformed into a breathtaking example of historic engraving.

    Genuine Coins, Meticulous Craftsmanship

Hand crafted by Stuart Richards exclusively for Silver State Foundry, this coin was hand selected for authenticity and detail.

Each small area was pierced before the background was removed using a jeweler's saw with very fine blades. Finally, the raw edges were filed and sanded smooth to create a finish beyond compare.

    Wear It Your Way

In our Reno, NV studio we will add a bale and 18" sterling silver ball chain so you can wear this piece as a necklace, or we'll add a pin and backing so you can wear it as a lapel pin/tie tack/brooch pin.

A True One-of-One Work of Art

Removing the background of a coin to reveal the engraver's original vision is a time consuming and painstaking process. As a result, this piece is the only one like it in the world. If it is something you're interested in, don't wait because once it is gone, it is truly gone for good!
