A coin ring is exactly what it sounds like: a ring handcrafted from an actual coin. We start with a real silver or gold coin, punch out the center, and carefully forge and shape it into a wearable ring while preserving as much of the original detail as possible — the date, lettering, stars, and engravings. The result is a heavy, substantial piece of jewelry that’s equal parts heirloom, conversation starter, and personal connection to history.

Absolutely. Every piece we craft starts as a genuine U.S. silver or gold coin — not a replica, not a copy, not some knock-off made overseas. When you wear one of our rings, you’re carrying a piece of American history that once circulated in the hands of soldiers, farmers, pioneers, and everyday citizens. That authenticity is what makes our work different, and it’s why customers tell us the rings feel alive with meaning.

There's a few reasons silver and gold generally make the best coin rings. First, in our forging process silver and gold respond the best to both heat and pressure.

Second, other metals such as copper, brass, and nickel can cause discoloration and irritation of the skin.

Most coins minted today rarely have and silver or gold in them. They use a combination of the above metals (known as "clad" coins). We avoid these because they make poor quality coin rings. If you see coin rings elsewhere with a dull appearance, this is usually the reason.

Not at all. U.S. law makes it illegal to counterfeit or change a coin in a way that makes it spendable again as currency. You can't whittle a nickel into the size of a dime and try to use it in a vending machine - that would be fraud.

But turning a coin into jewelry is perfectly legal and has been done for centuries.

Think of it like those “penny press” machines you see at landmarks that squash a penny into a souvenir. We’re doing the same thing, just with far more skill, craftsmanship, and reverence for the original piece. In fact, the U.S. Mint itself has confirmed that making jewelry from coins is allowed.

Every single ring is made right here in the USA by our small team of craftsmen. We don’t outsource production and we don’t import from overseas.

(NOTE: we do sometimes purchase foreign coins from trusted overseas dealers for custom projects)

From sourcing the coin, to forging and shaping it into a ring, to polishing, sizing, and packaging — the entire process happens in our workshop. It’s slow work, the old-fashioned way, but that’s how we ensure every ring carries the weight of authenticity, the pride of American craftsmanship, and the quality you’ll feel the moment you put it on.

Yes — and for many customers, that’s where the magic truly happens. If you have a family heirloom, a coin from your birth year, or even a coin you or a family member has carried daily for decades, we can often transform it into a ring you’ll wear every day.

Because coins come in different metals, sizes, and conditions, we do ask that you contact us first so we can confirm if your coin is suitable for the process. When it is, the result is unlike anything you could buy off a shelf — it’s your story, your history, permanently preserved in a ring you’ll treasure and eventually pass on.

We pride ourselves on being fast without cutting corners. For most orders, your ring is handcrafted, polished, and on its way to you within 2–3 business days. If you’ve requested a specific year of coin, or provided your own coin, the process may take a little longer while we source or work with your piece. Either way, you’ll always get updates from us, and you’ll never be left wondering where your order stands. Once it ships, you’ll receive tracking so you can follow your ring from our workbench to your doorstep.

Don’t worry — most guys don’t. We’ve made it easy to figure out. You can use our Ring Sizing Guide to measure at home in a couple of minutes, or pop into any jeweler and ask them to size you for free. And if you guess wrong? No problem. Every ring we make comes with free resizing — we’ll adjust it until it fits perfectly. Our goal is simple: when you put it on, it should feel like it’s been yours forever.
