Requesting a Specific Year or Coin
Most pieces are forged from coins we keep in stock, so standard orders ship quickly. But holding examples of every year for every coin is impractical. If a specific year matters to you, we're happy to accommodate that too - here's how that works.
Common years vs. better years
Every coin type has "common years" — widely available, no added cost — and "better years," which are rarer and carry a premium. Sometimes that premium is small. Occasionally it's significant. Which years fall into each category is different for every coin.
How it works
- Tell us the coin and year you're after.
- We'll check our on-hand stock in the safe. If we already have your coin, there's no added cost.
- If we don't, we'll research it and let you know if a premium applies, and how much.
- If you'd like to move forward, we'll send a revised invoice with the final price.
- Once your order is confirmed, we source the coin — this typically adds 2–4 days to your lead time.
Which pieces qualify
Specific year requests are available for the American Silver and Gold Eagle coins, which have been minted every year since 1986 to present. Specific year requests for Morgan silver dollars, Walking Liberty half dollars, and Saint Gaudens pre-1933 gold double eagles are not available for all years they were minted - some years have premiums of $100,000+ just for the coin. Feel free to ask, though, you might just get lucky.
