Yes. If you have a silver or gold coin with meaning — a family piece, something inherited, a coin you've held onto for years — we can forge it into a ring. Here's everything you need to know before you start.

What Coins Qualify

Silver: Most U.S. silver coins struck before 1965 work well — that's when the Mint moved away from silver for everyday coinage. Since then, a handful of coins are still struck in real silver and work just as well: American Silver Eagles (1986–present), 90% silver proof Kennedy half dollars, and other pure-silver U.S. Mint releases.

Gold: We work with 22k gold coins — 90% gold, the same standard as the American Gold Eagle. Pure 24k gold, like the American Gold Buffalo, is too soft to hold up as a ring and isn't eligible.

Foreign coins: We regularly work with foreign silver and gold coins too. Include them in your verification photos and we'll confirm eligibility the same way.

Not accepted: Clad, cupronickel, and brass coins — including most military and challenge coins and coins from 1965 to present that were meant for circulation — won't work. These metals can irritate skin, discolor with wear, and damage our tooling.

Worn coins are welcome. A worn coin often carries more sentimental value than a mint-condition one. We don't retouch or re-engrave detail that's already been lost to time — what's there is what becomes your ring.

How the Process Works

1. Send us photos. Email clear photos of both sides of your coin, plus your approximate ring size. Use this form to email us your coin pictures.
2. We confirm it. We check the metal, condition, and whether your requested size works for this specific coin. You'll hear back either way — if it's not a fit, we'll tell you honestly and offer alternatives where they exist.
3. Place your order. $395 for silver or $575 for gold.
4. We email specific mailing instructions — only after your order is placed.
5. You ship us your coin.
6. We forge it — 2–3 business days on the workbench once your coin arrives.
7. It ships to you. Silver via USPS Priority; gold Next Day via UPS or FedEx. Full standard packaging included: Certificate of Authenticity, polishing cloth, and presentation box.

Most commissions take about two weeks total, start to finish — assuming your coin reaches us and you order in a reasonable timeframe after confirmation.

What We Return to You

The small center piece removed during forging is always returned with your finished ring. It started as your coin, and it stays yours — a physical record of exactly where the ring came from.

Because edges must be shaved, filed, and sanded for comfortable wear, there may be a small discrepancy between the original coin's weight and the combined weight of the finished ring plus returned center punch. This is a normal and unavoidable part of responsible craftsmanship.

A Note on Risk

Not every coin makes it through the forging process successfully. We take specific precautions to minimize this risk, and to date, we have never lost a customer's coin to a catastrophic failure. But this is hand work on an irreplaceable object, and the possibility exists. If it happens, we'll return your original coin — damaged as it may be — and refund your purchase in full.

We also inspect every coin on arrival. In rare cases, a coin that looked genuine in photos turns out, on physical inspection, to be counterfeit or a different composition than expected — most commonly a plated Morgan Dollar recently made in China from steel or pot metal rather than silver. If this happens, we'll contact you, return the coin, and refund your purchase in full.
