Historic silver, refined for living color.

This ring begins as a genuine 19th-century Morgan Silver Dollar, minted between 1878 and 1904 in Bright Uncirculated (BU) or About Uncirculated (AU) condition. The coin is first forged into a solid silver ring, then placed on a lathe to precisely refine the exterior profile.

A channel is carefully cut into the outer surface to receive the inlay—while the interior of the ring remains untouched, reserving the coin’s original detail, including the mint year from the 1880s or 1890s.

The inlay itself is where this piece comes alive.

We use lab-created opal, selected for clarity and pronounced play of color, combined with crushed obsidian to add depth and contrast. As the ring moves, the opal shifts and shimmers, revealing different colors from different angles—never static, never flat. Blues ignite, reds surface, greens emerge, depending on light and motion.

Available opal color options:

  • Azure Blue
  • Fire Blue
  • Black Emerald
  • Crimson
  • Dragon Scale

The inlay is permanently set using jeweler’s-grade resin, then polished flush with the silver to a bright finish. The surface is smooth to the touch, but visually dynamic—changing as the wearer moves through the day.

Finish: Offered exclusively in Polished. No patina is applied, ensuring maximum brilliance and contrast between the silver and the living color of the opal.

This ring does not simply sit on the hand.

It responds to it.

The Morgan Silver Dollar

  • Years Used: 1878–1904
  • Typical Years Visible Inside Ring: 1880s–1890s
  • Composition: 90% silver, 10% copper
  • Condition: Bright Uncirculated (BU) or About Uncirculated (AU) only

Struck during America’s industrial ascent, the Morgan Silver Dollar became a symbol of confidence, permanence, and national ambition. Each opal inlay ring is forged from an authentic U.S. coin—never a reproduction—and retains its original interior markings as a permanent record of origin.

The year visible inside the ring is not decorative.

It is a factual imprint of history.

Forged first. Inlaid by precision.

This ring follows a deliberate, multi-stage process designed to preserve both history and structural integrity:

  • The coin is forged into a solid silver ring
  • The exterior is turned on a lathe for uniformity
  • A channel is precisely cut to receive the inlay
  • Opal and crushed obsidian are placed by hand
  • Jeweler’s-grade resin permanently secures the inlay
  • The ring is polished to a bright, seamless finish

The inlay sits flush with the silver—not raised, not recessed—ensuring durability and a clean visual line.

Modern materials are introduced without erasing the artifact beneath.

The result is a ring that carries history on the inside and motion on the outside.

Sizing matters—precision is essential.

Due to the inlay construction, this ring can only be resized ½ size up or down. Accurate sizing from the start is critical.

If you have not ordered from us before, please select “Request Ring Sizer” instead of choosing a ring size.

This ensures the correct fit before forging begins.
