1882 Morgan Silver Dollar Cut Coin Necklace

Prix de vente850.00

The eagle of the frontier, carved from silver.

This necklace begins with an authentic 1882 Morgan Silver Dollar, carefully hand-sawed to free the eagle with wings spread wide from the coin’s reverse. Each stroke of the jeweler’s saw preserves the powerful detail of feathers, arrows, and olive branch. Once complete, the cut coin is polished, mounted with a sterling silver bale and jump ring, and paired with a sterling ball chain.

The result is a wearable emblem of liberty and strength — a genuine historic coin transformed into a bold statement of American heritage.

The coin that built the West.

First struck in 1878 and produced through 1904, then briefly again in 1921, the Morgan Silver Dollar was minted in .900 fine silver from the Comstock Lode. These coins traveled across boomtowns, ranches, and railroads, fueling the growth of a young nation.

Designed by U.S. Mint engraver George T. Morgan, the obverse depicts Lady Liberty crowned with wheat and cotton — symbols of America’s agricultural strength. The reverse features a bald eagle with wings spread wide, holding arrows of resolve and an olive branch of peace, framed by a laurel wreath.

The 1882 issue, struck at several U.S. mints, captures the ambition and confidence of America’s Gilded Age.

Hand-cut with precision, shaped by history.

Each Morgan Silver Dollar is pierced and hand-sawed to reveal the eagle in full relief. The background is removed stroke by stroke, leaving the wings, feathers, and details of arrows and olive branch preserved in silver. Once cut, the coin is filed, polished, and mounted with a sterling silver bale and jump ring, then finished with a sterling ball chain.

No two pendants are alike — each bears the unique marks of its coin and the handwork that transformed it.
