A coin with deep Irish symbolism.

The Irish Silver Florin was struck by the Irish Free State between 1928 and 1968, when Ireland still used pre‑decimal coinage. Designed by Percy Metcalfe, the coin features the leaping salmon on the reverse—an ancient Celtic symbol of knowledge and perseverance—and the Irish harp on the obverse, one of the oldest national symbols still in use today.

Early issues (1928–1943) were struck in .750 fine silver, giving them both intrinsic and collectible value. Today, they remain beloved by those who celebrate Irish heritage and culture worldwide.
