Unlike any other of our cut coin necklaces before, this one's sides have been straightened, making the pendant into the familiar 'dog tag' shape.
As a cut coin, all of this imagery is transformed into a breathtaking example of historic engraving.
Hand crafted by Stuart Richards exclusively for Silver State Foundry, this coin was hand selected for authenticity and detail.
Each small area was pierced before the background was removed using a jeweler's saw with very fine blades. Finally, the raw edges were filed and sanded smooth to create a finish beyond compare.
In our Reno, NV studio we've added a loop and jump-ring out of sterling silver, turning it into a stunning pendant. It comes with a 22" sterling silver ball chain so you can slip this necklace on as soon as it arrives.
Removing the background of a coin to reveal the engraver's original vision is a time consuming and painstaking process. As a result, this 1884 Morgan Silver Dollar is the only one like it in the world!
