In the wake of JFK's assassination, the US Mint replaced the Ben Franklin half dollar with this classic silhouette of JFK. This particular coin is from 1967 - the Vietnam war was dividing America, The Graduate and Bonnie and Clyde were setting box office records, and out west, the Summer of Love was in full swing.
It was truly a time of change, one we collectively walked bravely through.
As a cut coin, this necklace is a breathtaking example of historic engraving.
Genuine Coins, Meticulous Craftsmanship
Hand crafted byStuart Richardsexclusively for Silver State Foundry, this coin was hand selected for authenticity and detail.
Each small area was pierced before the background was removed using a jeweler's saw with veryfine blades. Finally, the raw edges were filed and sanded smooth to create a finish beyond compare.
Ready To Turn Heads
In our Reno, NV studio we've added a loop and jump-ring out of sterling silver, turning it into a stunning pendant. It comes with a 22" sterling silver ball chain so you can slip this necklace on as soon as it arrives.
A True One-of-One Work of Art
Removing the background of a coin to reveal the engraver's original vision is a time consuming and painstaking process. As a result, this 1884 Morgan Silver Dollar is the only one like it in the world!
