The Morgan Striped Cuff Prix de vente2,050.00

Not every object needs to begin whole to become singular.

This cuff begins as four to five genuine Morgan Silver Dollars, sliced into long strips and joined end-to-end — each strip carrying its own trace of the coin it came from, aligned into a single banded structure unlike any other piece in the Foundry.

The result is a striped cuff with real depth and presence on the wrist, each band a fragment of sovereign silver rather than a single flattened coin.

The Morgan Silver Dollar remains one of the most recognized and admired coins in American history, struck for decades from western silver and carried through a defining era of the nation's currency. Cutting it into strips and rejoining it does not erase that history — it reshapes it into a new form built to be worn.

Each cuff is individually sliced, aligned, soldered, and finished in our American workshop. No castings. No replicas. No plated base metals. Only genuine Morgan Silver Dollars, hand-selected and hand-forged into their final form.

Sized to the wrist at the time of commission. Finished in polished or patina, per your preference.

Morgan Silver Dollar

Minted from 1878 to 1904, and again briefly in 1921, the Morgan Silver Dollar was designed by George T. Morgan and struck from silver drawn largely from the western United States in the years following the Comstock Lode discoveries.

The obverse depicts a profile of Liberty; the reverse, a heraldic eagle with wings outstretched, encircled by a wreath. It remains among the most widely collected and recognized silver dollars in American history — a coin tied directly to the silver-mining era of the American West.

Each cuff in this allocation draws from four to five individual Morgan Dollars, meaning each finished piece carries strike marks, dates, and mint characteristics unique to the specific coins selected for that commission. No two cuffs are forged from the same set of coins.

Cut apart. Realigned. Made whole again.

Each Morgan Striped Cuff begins with four to five genuine Morgan Silver Dollars, individually selected for the commission. Each coin is sliced into long strips — a deliberate departure from our single-coin work, built specifically to create the banded, striped structure this piece is known for.

The strips are arranged and aligned by hand, edge to edge, until they sit true to one another, then joined through careful soldering into a single continuous band. The piece is cut to length based on the wrist size of the commission, and the edges are finished smooth before the cuff is bent into its final curved form.

Because each strip carries the individual character of the coin it was cut from — its own wear, strike, and patination — no two cuffs align in quite the same way. That variation is not a flaw to be corrected. It is the proof that what you are wearing was once several coins, and is now one piece.

Finished in either a polished or patina surface, per your preference at the time of commission.
