Shop the Morgan Silver Dollar Ring
"When I slipped it on, I instantly felt a connection with our collective past."

Before it was a ring, it was money. Real money — minted by the U.S. government, carried in pockets, paid out in wages, spent in saloons and mining camps across the American West.

We don't melt that history down to make something new. We take the coin as it survives today and forge it, by hand, into a ring — keeping the original strike, the mint mark, and the wear of over a century visible in the finished piece.

A Real Piece of the Old West

Every Morgan Silver Dollar we use was struck between 1878 and 1904. Congress authorized the coin under the Bland-Allison Act of 1878, and it became the everyday silver dollar of the American West for the next quarter-century — moving through banks, mining payrolls, and saloons during one of the most consequential stretches of the country's growth.

Some of these coins carry a mint mark you can still read today: "CC" for Carson City, Nevada — struck a short ride from where this Foundry got its start. Others came from Philadelphia, New Orleans, or San Francisco. No two coins, and no two rings, carry the same history.

In 1918, the Pittman Act sent millions of Morgan Dollars to the melting pot to support the war effort — part of why surviving coins from some years are harder to find than others. Decades later, in the 1960s, Treasury vaults were found to be sitting on a forgotten stash of uncirculated Morgans, some thought to be rare — a reminder that this coin's story didn't end when it stopped being minted.

Why This Ring Is Different

A genuine historic coin — never a reproduction. Each Morgan Silver Dollar we use is selected in AU or BU condition (collector-grade, full detail, bright strike), not an average worn coin.

Hand-forged in the U.S. — shaped from the coin under heat and pressure, not cast from a mold.

Certificate of Authenticity included, and every piece is recorded under your name.

Lifetime resizing and refinishing, at no cost, for as long as you own it.

Sized to you, without guesswork. Coins are reeded — thicker — on the outer edge, which is why a Morgan ring is sized to that edge rather than the flat center. We handle that for you automatically. Full detail here: Common Questions and Sizing Protocol

Precision Craftsmanship

A close look says more than a whole-coin shot can. Every detail — Liberty's hairline, the wheat in her crown — is preserved exactly where it sat on the original coin. Nothing is smoothed over or simplified in the forging process.
