Unlike modern bullion, the Saint-Gaudens coin features edge lettering rather than reeded edges—a detail preserved in the finished ring and rarely seen in contemporary gold pieces.

Minted 1907–1933, the Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle is considered the most beautiful coin in U.S. history.

Certified by NGC or PCGS and graded MS63 or better, these scarce survivors retain Liberty, the eagle in flight, and the distinctive edge lettering even when transformed into a ring.

Introduced in 1907, the Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle was commissioned by President Theodore Roosevelt and designed by renowned sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens. He envisioned a coin as beautiful as the ideals of America itself—and the result is widely regarded as the most stunning coin in U.S. history.

Struck in .900 fine gold, the $20 Double Eagle features a radiant Lady Liberty stepping forward with a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other, symbolizing enlightenment and peace. The reverse shows an eagle soaring above the sun’s rays.

Production ended in 1933 when private gold ownership was outlawed, and most coins were melted down. Those that survived are now rare, certified treasures, graded for condition by leading agencies (NGC or PCGS) before entering our workshop.

Unique among U.S. coins, the Double Eagle’s raised edge lettering—“E Pluribus Unum” framed by thirteen stars—remains visible on the finished ring, elevating it far beyond ordinary jewelry.
